Grove Racing will once again hit the track this weekend in Sydney Motorsport Park for the fourth round of Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Australia.

After a solid triple podium finish last time out in Winton, Brenton Grove is looking to continue on his rapid progression hoping for a prudent result this weekend.

“For me it’s important to have a really productive Friday to set the tone for the rest of the weekend. I really enjoy the track and I feel like I am prepared as ever to put my best foot forward and hopefully have a decent result. I’m working better than ever with the team and I feel super comfortable in the car so now it’s about putting all of the little things together to really maximise the weekend.”

Brenton is currently sitting in second place outright in the GT3 Cup Challenge championship standings just 44 points behind the series leader. With the gaps so marginal in the series standings it makes every little point even more valuable than before.

Grove Racing will have to deal with tough conditions trackside with morning frost expected on all three days. As the southern hemisphere plunges into the peak of winter, so do the temperatures. The skies are forecasted to be clear but with a high of 15 degrees Celsius expected on Sunday, managing tyre temps is going to be critical.

“It might be a little difficult at times with the tyres, especially with the longer race on Saturday. For me though, I’ve done a lot of driving on the Pirellis now so I feel like I have learnt the way that I need to protect them to make sure they hang in over the weekend. It shouldn't be a problem as long as we are aware of the conditions and take it easy on the tyres when we are able to.”

Track action begins on Friday at 12:45pm with practice, ahead of qualifying and the first of our races on Saturday. Two more races on Sunday make for an action packed weekend.

All of Sundays race action will be livestreamed on the Shannon’s Nationals website, make sure you keep an eye out for the dazzling bright red Grove Hire Porsche!
