Brenton Grove is gearing up for sunset racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series at the Pirtek Perth SuperNight with Triple Eight Race Engineering.
Round 2 of the Super2 Series makes up the support bill for the SuperNight event at Perth’s Barbagallo Wanneroo Raceway (May 2-4).
The second tier Supercars category will have two 26 lap races, both of which will see the cars race into the sunset and dusk period of the day.
For Grove, it will not be the first time he has raced in changing conditions, having driven in low light at the Bathurst 12 Hour on two occasions.
While enthused by the unique features of the Perth SuperNight event, the 22-year old will be looking to focus on the task ahead of him in his second weekend with Triple Eight.
“Perth is a completely different sort of track to what Adelaide was, so I’m excited to keep the momentum going and looking to push forward this weekend,” said Grove.
“The layout allows for a bit more risk than normal so I’ll definitely put my best foot forward and see how we go.
“I’m really gelling well with the team, so I can’t wait to get back on track.”
The Perth SuperNight remains a three-day event, however, track action has shifted back a day, running on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.
Opening practice begins on Thursday at 12:30 local time (14:30 AEST), before a second 40-minute practice session at 14:55 local time (16:55 AEST).
Qualifying for Race 1 gets underway on Friday at 14:55 local time (16:55 AEST), ahead of Race 1 itself at 17:25 local time (19:25 AEST).
Saturday sees a similar format, with Qualifying for Race 2 at 13:50 local time (15:50 AEST) and Race 2 at 17:15 local time (19:15 AEST).
Fox Sports Channel 506 and streaming service Kayo will broadcast the action Live.
