The Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup season will heat up this weekend as the field takes to the streets of Monte Carlo, Monaco for Round 2.

After a positive start to the campaign for Grove in the Barcelona season opener, Monaco presents a whole different challenge.

The Principality’s famous street circuit incorporates a mixture of tight corners, including the notorious hairpin and swimming pool section.

Overtaking opportunities are rare on the narrow layout, making qualifying in Monaco the most important of the year.

Grove enters the weekend sitting fourth in the Pro-Am standings and is looking to move up the leaderboard.

Although he has prior experience around the streets of Monaco having made his Supercup debut at the same event last year, Grove says adapting to the track will be critical with limited track time.

“Monaco is a completely different challenge to any other circuit we go to. It’s so tight and twisty that the first practice session is crucial to set up the weekend,” Grove explained.

“Everyone knows how tricky it is to pass here, so for me it’s essential we get up to speed and have a strong showing in qualifying.

“Hopefully my experience within Australia will allow me to tackle the streets, as they bear some resemblance to the Gold Coast.”

The Monaco Supercup race weekend begins with a sole practice session on Thursday ahead of Qualifying on Friday and a 16-lap race on Sunday.

Fox Sports will broadcast all of the remaining Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup rounds Live in Australia in a deal supported by Porsche Cars Australia.

Live coverage of this weekend’s race in Monaco begins on Sunday (May 26, 2019) at 18:25 AEST on Fox Sports Channel 506.
